Community Guidelines

Posted 4 years ago

We know that most of you are responsible and ethical sportsman. A few of you are not. We ask that those few who are not behave themselves on this site or find themselves another community to make miserable. If you are unsure which kind of sportsman you are, we've listed a few guidelines for you.

It's Common Sense

Here are some common-sense rules that will help you steer clear of trouble:

  • NYOutdoorTalk.com is not for pornography or sexually explicit content. If this describes your comments, your blog, your classifieds, or your pictures, do not post them here.
  • Do not violate copyright laws. Only post content that you made or that you are authorized to use.
  • Not all sportsmen agree. There will always be a few hot-button issues out there. We encourage you to maturely express your beliefs when commenting or authoring content. If you cannot agree, at least agree to disagree. It's a big site and a big state.
  • Foul language will not be tolerated. Kids will be using this site. Let's think before we type.
  • Things like predatory behavior, stalking, threats, harassment, intimidation, invading privacy, revealing other people's personal information, and inciting others to commit violent acts or to violate the Terms of Use are taken very seriously. Anyone caught doing these things may be permanently banned from NYOutdoorTalk.com.
  • We know that NYOutdoorTalk.com is not the only site of its kind. Some of these competing sites have quality information. If a member posts the occasional link to a competing site owned or operated by a non-advertiser, we will not have a problem with that. Waging a marketing campaign to draw our members to another site, crosses the line and will not be tolerated.
  • Don't create misleading descriptions, tags, titles or thumbnails in order to increase views. It's not okay to post large amounts of untargeted, unwanted or repetitive content, including comments and private messages.

Please honor these guidelines. Don't try to look for loopholes or try to lawyer your way around the guidelines - just understand them and try to respect the spirit in which they were created.

These Guidelines Are Enforced
We monitor content. If anyone is violating the guidelines above or is just being a pain in our backside, we will delete your content. We may contact you asking that you change your behavior. We may ban you from the site. The assessment of the quality and appropriateness of your material is at the sole discretion of the Administrators at NYOutdoorTalk.com.
