A fisherman from Germantown, NY tied a state record with the giant smallmouth bass he caught during a fishing tournament. Patrick Hildenbrand hauled in his 8 lb. 4 oz. smallmouth bass on August 28 while fishing the St. Lawrence River. His catch now shares the state record for a smallmouth bass with one caught from Lake Erie in 1995.
